Membership

Beekeeper: $100 per share + $25/annually

Associate: $25/annually

NOTE: One significant advantage to being a Beekeeping Member of the Cape Breton Organic Beekeepers' Cooperative is that you have access to varroa-mite free honeybees produced by other participating members. Coop members are encouraged to give priority purchasing of varroa mite-free bees to other members.

This agreement is in development and highly dependent on the success of yearly colony increase efforts. Over the 2011 beekeeping season we will be working to establish a formal waiting list. Please check back here for updates or contact us at info@cbobc.ca with questions and concerns.

The Cape Breton Organic Beekeepers' Cooperative offers two types of membership:

Beekeeper: As a Beekeeping Member you

Associate: As an Associate Member you

Are an active Cape Breton beekeeper AND,
Registered with the N.S. Dept. of Agriculture
Have one voting share for Coop affairs AND
Are encouraged to attend all Board and General meetings
Likely have your own honey bees, OR
Have recently completed an apprenticeship with one of our experienced beekeepers.
Have access to mite and disease free bees from our experienced members.
Have full access to all our events, activities, and are encouraged to promote your hive products through our website.

Are interested in honeybees AND/OR beekeeping on Cape Breton Island.
Are encouraged to attend all General meetings
Have full access to all our events & activities
